Prince Harry reportedly wants his father, King Charles, to join him at the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year, as the duke wishes for a public royal reunion. A new report by the Mirror claims that the Invictus Games organisers plan to invite the King to take part in “either the opening or closing ceremony as well as visiting a range of sporting events to meet competitors”.
Father and Son's Last Public Appearance
Father and son last spent time together in public for the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and her Platinum Jubilee celebration the summer of that year. They also met privately last month at Highgrove House, during Harry’s trip to the UK.

Harry's Two-Fold Intention
A source told the outlet: “Harry’s intention is two-fold. He would love the King’s support at the Games, while having his father by his side would also add considerable weight to his argument for security for his family to accompany him on the trip.”
July’s private meeting between the King and Queen and the Sussex family involved Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It was the first time the Sussex children had seen their grandfather in four years.
Private Family Visit
Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet made the under-the-radar trip to Gloucester for the family affair after spending time on holiday around Europe. Harry also attended Charles’s Coronation in May 2023; however, he did not attend any public events.
Now sources claimed the duke is willing to put more effort into his children spending time with his father, who is still undergoing treatment for a type of cancer he was diagnosed with in 2024.
