A Daily Express poll has revealed whether the British public should change their minds about Meghan Markle now that she has returned to the UK with Prince Harry.
Meghan and Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the USA, but after six years the couple have returned to British soil. Although they are not working royals, they plan to stay in Britain, prompting questions about their future.
Poll results
Out of 7,092 Express readers who took part in the poll, 171 (2%) voted yes, 6,884 (97%) voted no, and 37 people (1%) voted don't know.
The Duchess has spoken publicly about her estrangement from her father, Thomas Markle Sr, who is at the centre of a police probe after his son, Thomas Markle Jnr, claimed to have found a stash of child sex abuse images at his father's former home in Cebu.
Scandal and reaction
The scandal has caused shockwaves worldwide, with reports claiming a "deeply distressed" Meghan sent a final letter to her father last year while he was recovering from a leg amputation. Meghan allegedly wrote to tell him she knows he is an abuser and vowed he will never see his royal grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Thomas Markle Sr has furiously slammed the claims as "sick lies" and has denied any wrongdoing.
Life back in the UK
The Duchess and Harry are reportedly now living in the Cotswolds and have kept a low profile for their first couple of months back in the UK. In October, they embarked on an official outing together in Nottingham, meeting with charities and talking with people from local communities.
Fans lined the street to greet them, giving them flowers and exchanging words. The pair are planning to stay in the UK for an "extended" period of time.
