Love Island stars Tom Clare and Molly Smith's wedding celebrations in Majorca were interrupted by police on the second day of festivities. The Guardia Civil were called to the Suculenta Port de Sóller restaurant after guests were spotted jumping into the sea, which is banned.
Police called to afterparty
As the party continued, booze flowed and guests entered the clear blue water, prompting the local police to arrive. The Guardia Civil reportedly spoke to those in attendance to de-escalate the situation. Tom's close friends, Love Island star Casey O'Gorman and Seb Melrose, both wearing swimming shorts, were seen being spoken to by the police, who flashed a smile before the celebrations continued.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Molly and Tom’s guests were having a great time, people were downing beer, and Casey was keeping everyone in the party mood."
"At one point, Casey decided to jump into the port next to the restaurant, which is forbidden. The police arrived to give him a telling off and told him where he was allowed to swim."
Wedding celebrations
This was not the first hiccup the wedding festivities faced. Prior to heading to Majorca, Casey almost missed the wedding after claiming easyJet had overbooked the flight and he was initially denied entry.
The couple were married at the end of June in a courthouse ceremony in Manchester, attended only by those closest to the pair. They then hired out The Ivy in the same city for their post-ceremony celebrations. Over the weekend, they hosted a more lavish wedding on the Spanish island, with reports revealing the couple hired out the 17th-century mansion Son Marroig.
Venue and guests
The venue is reported to cost £10,000 per night to hire, and social media clips from the big day have shown guests partying after the couple said "I do." Photographs from the event show Molly in a strapless white gown and a long, flowing veil, while Tom wore a white tuxedo and black bow tie. Molly was walked down the aisle by her father, and the couple beamed as they swapped vows and kissed in front of their guests.
Both had previously featured on the main Love Island show, with Molly appearing on season six in 2020 and Tom on season nine in 2023. They found lasting love when they returned to the villa for the All Stars version of the show.
