Peter Phillips, the eldest grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has announced his engagement to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling. The ring, chosen by Phillips from Mayfair jeweller Pragnell, carries a special connection to his grandmother.
Pragnell has a history of royal commissions, having acquired Philip Antrobus, the jeweller who designed the three-carat round brilliant diamond engagement ring given to Princess Elizabeth by Prince Philip in 1946. The same company also crafted a bracelet for the then-Princess Elizabeth, worn on her wedding day in 1947.

Phillips previously paid tribute to his grandmother in a 2024 interview, calling her 'a figurehead that had been part of everybody's lives for as long as people could remember' and noting her unique role as a grandmother and role model.
The couple went public with their relationship in May 2024 at the Badminton Horse Trials. No wedding date has been set, but the engagement has been welcomed by both families and senior royals.
