Neil Jones has revealed that his split from Katya Jones had nothing to do with Seann Walsh, explaining that the pair had simply grown apart before ending their marriage in 2019.
The Strictly Come Dancing professionals were married from 2013 to 2019. Their split was announced 10 months after Katya was photographed kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh outside a pub in October 2018.
Growing apart
Speaking to The Sun in 2020, Neil said: "We found that we'd grown apart like people do, so we were like, 'OK, let's go our separate ways'. We are lucky that we don't have kids."
He added: "We were moving in different directions, but we are friends again now. Katya is a great girl, and I've got nothing bad to say about her."
Life after the split
Neil, who has since married Love Island star Chyna Mills, assured fans that he and Katya remain on good terms. He noted: "I'm in a good place, and me and Katya get on really well now. For me, it's something that happened in the past. We spoke about everything back then. We had a situation, but everyone was supportive, so we got through it."
Neil added that he "never thought about quitting" Strictly, recalling that in the aftermath of the kiss, he and Katya "just got on and worked".
Current status
Earlier this year, Neil confirmed that he and Chyna had tied the knot at Old Marylebone Town Hall, before hosting a second wedding abroad in Florence, Italy. The couple said 'I do' with their daughter, Havana, by their side.
Katya has continued to compete in the BBC series and is currently paired up with YouTube sensation John Nellis. She appears to be single.
