Melania Trump Welcomes 2025 White House Christmas Tree from Michigan
Melania Trump welcomes White House Christmas tree

First Lady Melania Trump has officially commenced the holiday season at the White House, personally welcoming the 2025 Christmas tree in a festive ceremony on Monday.

A Grand Arrival for the Festive Centrepiece

The concolor fir, which travelled from Korson's Tree Farms in Michigan, made a grand entrance. It arrived at the executive residence in a distinctive green horse-drawn carriage, driven by three men wearing traditional top hats.

Melania Trump, dressed elegantly in a cream-coloured overcoat and dark red gloves, greeted the delivery. "It's a beautiful tree," the First Lady remarked. She was seen circling the carriage for photographs, shaking hands with the driver and a woman who accompanied the two majestic Clydesdale horses.

Champion Growers from Michigan

This year's tree carries a significant honour. Michigan's Korson's Tree Farms secured the prestigious 2025 Grand Champion Growers title from the National Christmas Tree Association. This marks the first time a farm from the state of Michigan has won this accolade since 1985.

The selection process for the tree began months ago. Dale Haney, the White House's superintendent of grounds, personally selected this specific concolor fir back in September. The family-owned farm, which started its operations in 1973 and is based in Sidney Township, had previously won the reserve champion title in 2015, providing that year's official tree for the vice president's residence.

Representing the growers, Korson expressed immense pride, stating they were "very excited about the opportunity" and proud to represent real Christmas tree farmers across the United States.

Unveiling the 2025 Holiday Decorations

The arrival of the tree signals that the First Lady is preparing to unveil her complete 2025 holiday decorations. This annual reveal is an event that drew considerable public and media scrutiny during Donald Trump's first term in office.

A preview of this year's festive aesthetic was offered earlier in the year. In a brief video shared online during October, Melania Trump was seen arranging a gold-themed Christmas display, complete with garlands and various ornaments.

The tree is now destined for its traditional place in the Blue Room. Its installation precedes the resumption of public tours in December. These popular tours, which showcase the State Floor decorations, had been halted for several months due to controversial construction work.
