Meghan Markle faces a brutal reality check when the Sussexes move back to the UK, a royal biographer has said. Andrew Lownie suggested the Duchess of Sussex would struggle with the weather and with her mother, Doria Ragland, remaining in the US.
Biographer's warning on UK return
Mr Lownie told The Daily T podcast: "I can't see Meghan enjoying a Cotswolds winter with the rain coming down, and her mother a long way away. So I just can't see this working."
The Sussexes are preparing to set up home in the UK, in a shock development six years after they quit the working monarchy and moved to California, with the children now enrolled in British schools.
Acting role and settlement plans
Meghan is said to be pursuing an acting role, with reports she is in talks about a part in the third series of Guy Ritchie's Netflix hit The Gentlemen and counterclaims that the deal was off.
The Duke and Duchess are planning an extended stay in the UK, but it will not be permanent. A number of locations have been suggested as places where the family could settle, including the Cotswolds.
