Prince Harry has revealed a surprising gift that Meghan Markle once requested from his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. The revelation came during a 2021 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, where Harry shared a rare glimpse into his family life in Montecito.
A Waffle Maker for Archie
Harry explained that Queen Elizabeth asked what their son Archie, then one and a half years old, wanted for Christmas. Meghan suggested a waffle maker, and the Queen obliged by sending one. Harry described how Meghan uses it to make a healthy organic mix for Archie, who loves the result.
"My son is now over a year and a half. He is hysterical. He's got the most amazing personality. He's already putting two or three words together, and he's already singing songs," Harry said. He also noted Archie's first word was "crocodile."
Breakfast Tradition
Harry shared that Archie wakes up in the morning saying "waffle," and that the Queen's gift inspired Harry himself to adopt waffles for breakfast, topped with yogurt and jam. "Now I have waffles for breakfast, a bit of yoghurt, a bit of jam on top. I don't know if that's the right thing to do," he added.
Meghan, who turns 45 today, is reportedly planning a low-key birthday celebration surrounded by loved ones, according to a friend cited by HELLO! Magazine. Meghan and Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020, two years after their 2018 marriage.
