Meghan Markle issues statement after whirlwind UK visit
Meghan Markle issues statement after UK visit

Meghan Markle issued a new message to her fans just hours after her busy day of engagements. The Duchess of Sussex had an away day in Nottingham on Thursday alongside her husband, Prince Harry, carrying out engagements linked to their charitable endeavours.

Despite having a busy morning in the Midlands, the Duchess sent out a newsletter to her As Ever customers in the evening. As Ever was launched in 2025 and has been the Duchess's passion project since quitting the Royal Family in 2020.

Holiday chocolate promotion

On Thursday, Meghan introduced her fans to the "sweetest part of the season" as she promoted the brand's £57 limited edition holiday chocolate assortment in collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés.

Meghan's message read: "Sneak a first bite of our limited edition holiday chocolate assortment in collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés.

"Indulge in our Treasures of the Orchard Chocolate Covered Fruit Gift Box — featuring California orchard fruits, picked at their peak and hand-dipped in fine chocolate. Enjoy the Botanical Confections Chocolate Bar Trio, a lovely set of chocolate bars inspired by our aromatic teas.

"And lastly, don't forget to pre-order our 2026 Holiday Advent Calendar for a special countdown to the holiday season. All presented in exclusive As Ever packaging, and made for gifting and giving. Because some of the sweetest parts of the season are the little surprises and the simple pleasure of having something special to look forward to."

Nottingham appearances

Earlier in the day, the Sussexes were welcomed to the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in St Ann's, Nottingham, for a run of three quasi-royal public appearances in the city on Thursday.

The Duchess was heard telling one woman in the crowd: "Oh it's great to be back".

At one point Meghan turned her attention to the most British of topics – the weather, telling one member of the public who had gathered in the sunshine: "We've got lovely weather today. We got lucky."

Harry could be seen putting his hand on Meghan's back, and at one point the couple put their arms around each other.

Private citizens

The high-profile events are not official royal engagements – with a letter to Government stakeholders, authorised by the King last month, clarifying that the Sussexes remain "private citizens" – they appeared to bear all the hallmarks of such engagements.
