King Charles and Prince Harry reportedly made an agreement before the monarch reunited with his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet earlier this month, it has been claimed.
On July 10, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, took their children to the King's private Highgrove home. Once there, the family-of-four spent time with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The meeting was kept top secret, with very few knowing it was taking place. It is believed the meeting, which reportedly lasted just over an hour, was successful.
Agreement to Avoid Press Topics
This is because a source claimed that the King and Harry had agreed beforehand not to mention topics in the press and to keep the meeting focused solely on the children.
A source told US Weekly: “Certain topics were off limits. They [all] agreed beforehand that they would not discuss any topics making headlines in the press.”
“The king and queen wanted personal time with their grandchildren, and they wanted it to be lighthearted and positive. The point of the meeting was to spend time with them, and that was the only thing on the agenda.”
Focus on Family
The reunion came after a week of headlines surrounding Prince Harry, from the Buckingham Palace saga, to the court defeat, and the fact that Meghan and the children were flying to Britain later than Harry for just a few days. However, it seems this did not dull the atmosphere of the reunion, which was the first time the King had seen Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, since 2022.
The source also claimed that Their Majesties “would only agree to the meeting if the kids were coming.”
Before this July reunion, the King last saw his youngest son in September on one of Harry's solo visits across the pond. Both the King and Queen Camilla had not seen Meghan, Archie or Lilibet since 2022 because they had not set foot in the UK in four years. This is believed to be because of security concerns and the lack of taxpayer-funded police protection. This has meant that Harry's visits - until a few weeks ago - were always solo, with his family staying behind at their Montecito mansion in America.
