Former Sky News presenter Kay Burley has suggested Meghan Markle should champion the restoration of Princess Diana's memorial fountain, saying it has been dry for weeks and "runs even less frequently than I do these days."
Burley took to Instagram this weekend after news broke that Prince Harry and Meghan are planning to return to the UK. She shared a photograph of a Royal Parks sign showing one of the fountains was not working.

In her post, Burley wrote: "Meghan is apparently considering a return to the small screen via Guy Ritchie's Netflix hit The Gentlemen. I have another project for her. Forget the carefully choreographed appearances. Fix your mother-in-law's fountain."
She added: "We Brits will love you for it," concluding "with love, Kay" in a swipe at Meghan's Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.
Diana memorial restoration call
In her Substack newsletter, Burley said the fountain "was designed to depict Diana's life represented in water. Turbulence and serenity. It sounds rather lovely doesn't it, but the reality is rather different."
She added: "Surely we could have done better than this for the People's Princess? Which brings me back to Meghan."
Burley said: "Returning to Britain after six years away cannot be entirely straightforward, and there is no pretending her relationship with the British public has been an easy one. So here's an opportunity for her. Champion the restoration of Diana's memorial. Get the experts in and get the water flowing reliably."
She described this as "the memorial Diana deserves" – without "Netflix cameras, podcasts or documentaries" recording the fix.
The comments come weeks after Burley branded Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor a "war hero" while on a BBC sofa next to Jeffrey Epstein survivor Lisa Phillips.
