The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a glimpse into their children's responsibilities during school breaks, with Kate Middleton disclosing that Prince George was tasked with moving animal feed on the family's Norfolk estate.
During a 2022 visit to a goat farm in Wales, Kate mentioned that George had been assigned the chore of shifting feed at Anmer Hall on the Sandringham estate. The revelation came after Prince William noted a robot silage sweeper and the farmer explained it could be used for moving feed.
Royal expert Jennie Bond commented that William and Kate are keen to instil a sense of responsibility in their children, despite their royal status. She noted that the couple, who experienced life outside palace walls during university and their time in Anglesey, want their children to understand the importance of contributing to household tasks.
The Waleses have also been vocal about limiting screen time for their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Neither child owns a mobile phone, and the couple actively monitors their media consumption.
With the summer holidays underway, Bond suggested that chores such as tidying rooms, filling the dishwasher, or brushing the dog might be expected of the young royals. The couple's emphasis on outdoor activities aligns with their advocacy for physical and emotional wellbeing.
