Kate Ferdinand has confirmed that she and her husband, Rio, have welcomed a new addition to their family after they suffered a heartbreaking loss earlier this year.
Back in May, the former The Only Way is Essex star said she had been left 'heartbroken' as she announced the death of her family's beloved dog on social media.
A decade with Ronnie
Kate had had her adorable pet chihuahua, Ronnie, for over a decade, having taken him in back in 2015, when she was with her former boyfriend, Dan Edgar, and the little pooch was regularly seen with Kate during her time on the ITV reality show.
He has also been present for many major changes in Kate's life, including meeting her now-husband, becoming a stepmother to the former footballer's three children, and welcoming two of her own children into the world. Ronnie also joined the family in their move to Dubai.
Kate broke the news by sharing a montage of pictures of videos of her and Ronnie from over the years. She captioned her post: "Heartbroken. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love my baby Rons. So so sad."
Meet Rudey-Bear
Now, months on from the upsetting loss, Kate has revealed that she and Rio have welcomed a new pooch into their home. Sharing adorable pictures of the puppy settling in to his new home on Instagram, she shared: "Just trying to build two brands, juggle 5 kids across 2 countries, be a good wife and maintain some level of sanity…"
"So naturally, I went and adopted a dog. Meet Rudey-Bear. We aren’t sure what this little one has been through but after 10 days he is finally starting to settle into his forever home."
Life in Dubai
Kate and Rio moved to Dubai last year with their young children, but Kate later admitted to missing life in the UK. She said on her Blended podcast: "I feel like we've opened our eyes to a different world. But I love London, I love the UK. I love so many things about the UK. I do feel happy in Dubai, but I'm just missing a part of me."
She added: "I think it's an amazing place to live, I think it's amazing for the children. The children are thriving and happy and living a life of just outside freedom. Rio loves it so much. I am enjoying it, but I miss home quite a lot. I get upset. I miss the big boys a lot and I'm just struggling with that."
"I know this decision is right for my younger children and as a family we are settled there, but the boys are following their football careers. So they're doing what they want to do otherwise they'd be with us. But it's very hard because we've been through so much as a family and we've always been together and that's a huge adjustment."
