Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly worried that their decision to return to the UK was a mistake, according to a source. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently moved back to Britain with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, and have been left shocked by the reception they have received.
Concerns Over Royal Standing
A purported insider told Heat that the couple have got "the distinct impression that they aren’t wanted here". The source added: "Harry is increasingly concerned about where he and Meghan fit into the royal picture. They’re beginning to realise that their past indiscretions may have caused lasting damage, and they’re worried they may have left it too late to put things right."
The claims come after a letter clarifying the couple's statuses was sent out on behalf of the King to their team, Government departments, military officials, and Lord Lieutenants. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said they were "surprised" by the statement.
King's Awareness and Contact
It is believed that King Charles was aware of the couple's move four days before it went public and is pleased about the Sussexes' return. The King and his youngest son were also reportedly having "weekly contact" over the phone prior to the delivery of the letter.
Upcoming Engagements
The Duke of Sussex’s first public engagements since his return to the UK have been announced, with Harry set to lead a run of charity events this month. He will attend the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards and the launch of the Invictus education programme INSPIRE, as well as taking part in one of his favourite annual occasions, the WellChild Awards.
