A former royal butler has suggested that Princess Catherine's sister, Pippa Middleton, could become one of her companions when she becomes Queen, in a role similar to that of Queen Camilla's sister, Annabel Elliot.
Grant, who worked for King Charles when he was a prince between 2004 and 2011, told Smooth Spins Casino - Smooth Radio's Gaming Brand - that he can see Pippa being one of Catherine's companions in the future.
Companion role for Pippa
The role of a companion is to provide company to the royal at public engagements and during official royal duties. This can involve helping to collect flowers, greeting people at events, and generally being a support close by.
Speaking about how Pippa could play this role for Catherine, Grant said: "In the future, I wouldn't rule out Pippa becoming one of Kate's companions. Like what Queen Camilla is doing right now with her sister."
Close bond between sisters
He continued: "Pippa does her own thing. She keeps herself very low key, and I think she does a really good job of it."
While Pippa, who turns 43 today, isn't seen out often with Catherine, it is well-known that the sisters are close and rely on each other for support. Speaking to Today in the US in 2014, Pippa said she and Kate "spend a lot of time together" and often call when they need advice or a chat.
She said: "We're very close. And, you know, we support each other and get each other's opinions and things."
