Harry and Meghan Snubbed by Clooneys at London Charity Gala

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again been left red-faced after relocating to the UK, in what seems to have become a regular occurrence. This time, the couple were humiliated by their Hollywood pals, George and Amal Clooney, who have joined other stars in distancing themselves from the Sussexes.

Even after their controversial departure from California, they failed to secure an invitation to the Clooneys' charity gala in London, despite inviting the pair to their 2018 royal wedding. In an embarrassing turn of events, Harry and Meghan were snubbed for the likes of Brad Pitt, Anna Wintour and Emma Thompson.

Hollywood Distance Grows

This is an absolute disaster for the pair, who were once hosted by the Hollywood icon in Oxfordshire and then at his luxurious villa on Lake Como in Italy. Now it seems clear that the Ocean's Eleven star wants nothing to do with them.

This is not the first time the Sussexes have failed to impress. Just weeks ago, Tom Cruise picked his side and instead invited Prince William and Princess Catherine to the London premiere of Digger.

Missed Opportunity

If they weren't watching envy and anger then, they'd undoubtedly be fuming now, as George and Amal were hosting a black-tie charity gala, which would've been right up their street as so-called private citizens. Instead of being in their finest frocks and brushing shoulders with the A-Listers, Harry was reportedly watching football in Leicester, while Meghan was said to be at home.

The Sussexes could've desperately done with the useful invite, which might've quietened reports that Hollywood is turning its back on Harry and Meghan, but I'm afraid it's just fanned the fire.

Agent and Gala Details

Meghan had also been brutally ditched by her Hollywood agents, Ari Emmanuel, who told The Sunday Times: "Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about that any more." George and Amal are just the latest to quietly distance themselves from the couple in a bid to avoid complicating their own relationships with the monarchy, or, like many of us, after growing weary of their endlessly public drama.

The charity gala, held at the Natural History Museum, was hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice. The annual award ceremony honours those who have "devoted their lives to fighting for justice".

Considering Harry's several lawsuits in his own fight for justice, his arrival would likely have overshadowed the cause, as his personal battle with the Government over his security before the Court of Appeal continues. Even Meghan's hopes of returning to the big screen were thwarted, with her reported appearance on The Gentlemen season three out the window.

It's probably for the best they practise their highly desired privacy and remain hidden behind the tall trees of the Cotswolds.
