The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived in the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to set up home in the country. The family of four flew privately into Birmingham airport on Wednesday from California, according to reports.
Busy Day Ahead for the Family
It is believed the day will be busy for the family, who will have brought many of their belongings with them for their new home. The location of their private, non-royal residence has not been and will not be revealed for security reasons.
The family’s expected arrival in the UK today was reported by the BBC. It was expected they would arrive before the end of the month, giving their children time to settle and get over jet lag before starting at their new school.
Mixed Reactions to the Return
While many people don’t seem happy about the return of the couple to Britain - a country they have criticised since leaving in 2020 - others will no doubt be delighted to welcome them. This is likely to include Prince Harry’s Spencer relatives, with whom he maintains a close relationship. King Charles is also likely to be pleased that the family will be living on UK soil, giving him more opportunity to get to know his grandchildren better.
School and Motive Not Disclosed
The school chosen for Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, which they will start at next week, has not been revealed. A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said, "This is not something we would comment on" when asked about when the family will arrive.
Harry and Meghan have not disclosed the motive behind their return back to the UK. They are holding on to their Montecito home in California.
