Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are believed to be returning to the UK today, Wednesday 26 August. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are thought to be flying into the country privately from Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
A spokesman for Harry and Meghan said "this is not something we would comment on".
Return after six years
The news broke last week that the pair are returning to the UK six years after stepping down from the Royal Family in January 2020. While the Sussexes will not return to royal duties, they will live in Britain as private citizens and non-working royals.
It's believed the family will live at a private property outside of London in the Cotswolds area. Archie and Lilibet have also been enrolled in school and the new term is due to start next week.
Extended stay, not permanent move
Despite the move, insiders close to the Sussexes told Page Six that the family is relocating back to the UK for an extended period, rather than on a permanent basis. It's also understood that Harry and Meghan will not be putting their $14.5 million Montecito, California, property on the market, according to sources.
King Charles was reportedly told of the move earlier this month and the move was not mentioned to the monarch when the pair visited his Highgrove home in July this summer.
Security concerns remain
It comes just over a year after Harry previously ruled out ever returning to Britain, stating in a BBC interview: "I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point." It's believed the duke's main concerns revolved around security and tax-payer funded protection for his family, which he and Meghan were stripped of after stepping down from the monarchy.
It's unclear what security measures will be put in place for the Sussex family in the UK and who will pay for it.
