Gogglebox star Baasit Siddiqui marks 14th wedding anniversary

Gogglebox star Baasit Siddiqui has shared pictures with his rarely-seen wife, Melissa, as the couple marked their 14th wedding anniversary. The 44-year-old TV personality, who appears in the 28th series of the Channel 4 show alongside his dad and brother, posted a series of photos on social media on Tuesday, October 6.

Anniversary breakfast and first dance song

Baasit shared a picture from the couple's anniversary breakfast on his Instagram Story, writing: "Celebrating our 14 year wedding anniversary with a cheeky brekkie (sic)". He uploaded the picture alongside UB40's (I Can't Help) Falling in Love With You, describing the track as his and Melissa's "first dance song".

He also posted a string of photos of himself and Melissa smiling for selfies, as well as sweet pictures from their wedding day. Alongside the post, he wrote: "Somehow along the way 14 years has passed since we said 'I do.'"

Messages from fans

Baasit added: "Time really does fly when you're having fun! Here's to many more. We celebrated with a yummy breakfast and chatted about all things kids (as you do) (sic)."

Messages soon came flooding in, with fans offering congratulations. @harriet_manby said: "Gorgeous! Happy Anniversary." @madelinjameswriter commented: "Happy anniversary, wishing you many, many more." @peg.bessie.art wrote: "Congratulations on 14 years together." @exploringwithdan72 shared: "Congratulations you lovely people. Wishing you many more years of happiness." @tracey_rufy added: "Here's to plenty more years walking life's journey together - Happy Anniversary!"

Pride in Gogglebox role

Baasit married Melissa a year before he first appeared on Gogglebox in March 2013. While he has kept their relationship private on-screen, he does give fans a glimpse into their family life on social media.

Speaking ahead of the new series of Gogglebox in September, Baasit said he was "super" proud of being part of the show, which he said acts as a "time capsule of all the things that are happening in the world". He shared: "The nice side, the happy side, the levity side, the silliness of it, but also those really important moments as well, like … Covid, Donald Trump, Brexit. All of those things that we bottled and just been those first reactors to it. I think that's something that I'm super-duper proud to have been a part of this time capsule."
