Prince Harry has revealed that he consulted a woman who claimed to have 'powers' to relay a message from his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. The account appears in his upcoming autobiography, Spare, obtained by the Guardian ahead of its release next week.
In the book, Harry writes that the woman told him: 'You're living the life she couldn't. You're living the life she wanted for you.' The prince, now 38, was 12 when Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
Harry does not use the words 'psychic' or 'medium' to describe the woman, nor does he disclose when or where the meeting took place. He says he recognised the 'high-percentage chance of humbuggery' but went because trusted friends recommended her. 'The minute we sat down together, I felt an energy around her,' he writes.
The woman reportedly told Harry that his mother was with him and knew he was 'looking for clarity'. Harry says his neck grew warm and his eyes watered. He asked for proof, and the woman mentioned a Christmas tree ornament of the Queen that had been accidentally smashed by Harry's son, Archie, claiming Diana 'had a bit of a giggle about that'.
Harry's memoir, Spare, also details his grief, his marriage to Meghan Markle, and strained relations with the royal family, including an alleged physical attack by his brother, Prince William. The book is published by Transworld and costs £28.
