Coleen Nolan has shocked her daughter Ciara by revealing she would now consider getting married again, having previously ruled out a third wedding. The 61-year-old Loose Women star made the admission during the latest episode of the family podcast, Nolans Uncensored, after going Instagram official with her new partner, 41-year-old Ryan Brockbank, in August.
Change of heart over marriage
For years, Coleen had insisted she would never walk down the aisle again following her divorces from Shane Richie and Ray Fensome. However, her unexpected U-turn came when the podcast producer encouraged her and Ciara to discuss Ciara's upcoming wedding.
After seemingly mishearing the prompt, Coleen replied: "My wedding?", prompting the producer to respond: "Oh, that's news!" Ciara then chimed in: "She wants to get married now, she's on her third wedding," before asking her mum directly: "Do you actually want to get married?"
'I hadn't met Ryan'
Coleen answered: "No, I always said I would never get married again, but I hadn't met Ryan." After her daughter expressed shock, she added: "Honestly, I think he's what I've been looking for for probably 50 years," before reassuring Ciara that they "won't crash" her big day.
The admission follows a previous episode in which Ciara revealed that she and Ryan had got matching tattoos. One was of the letter "R" followed by a love heart, and another read: "Until the end." Ciara told listeners: "She sent it in the group chat and we all wanted to kill ourselves. We were all texting each other privately going, 'Mum's lost the plot, she's lost her head'."
"I haven't though, I've just lost my heart," the Loose Women star replied, laughing, prompting Ciara to pretend to vomit. Despite the teasing, Ciara said she "loved" Ryan and was "happy" for her mum.
Romance revealed
Coleen had kept her relationship with the university lecturer private for several months before sharing their first selfie together on August 11. Earlier this week, she posted a second photo of the pair with the caption: "Summer nights."
Coleen was previously married to EastEnders star Shane Richie, with whom she shares two sons, Shane Nolan and Jake Roche. The couple were married for nine years before divorcing in 1999. Eight years later, she married her second husband, Ray Fensome, who is Ciara's father. She announced their split in 2018, saying the decision was made after "much hard work and many efforts" to save the relationship.
