David Beckham has officially received his knighthood from King Charles III at a star-studded investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. The former England football captain, 50, was honoured for his services to sport and charity.
The ceremony featured a surprise performance of 'Golden', a hit song from the Netflix film 'KPop Demon Hunters', played by a string quartet. Watching on were his wife Victoria Beckham, a fashion designer and former Spice Girl, and his parents Ted Beckham and Sandra West.
Speaking after the event, Sir David described it as a day 'full of emotion and tears'. He told The Sun: 'To have my parents there today, to have my wife there to celebrate with my children, it makes it a very emotional day.' He praised the King as 'one of the most elegant men'.
Victoria Beckham designed and made the morning suit her husband wore for the occasion, marking the first time she has created a garment for him. A friend revealed the secret project began in June after the couple learned of the honour.
In a social media post, Sir David expressed his gratitude, saying: 'I can't even begin to describe what a special day it is for me today, a boy born in East London, to receive a Knighthood from His Majesty The King.' He thanked his family, teammates, and fans for their support throughout his career.
