Celebrity Traitors viewers were left feeling upset for Little Mix star Leigh-Anne as they said she was being picked on for an unfair reason by her fellow celebrities. It comes as the 20 remaining famous faces were preparing to banish their first player.
Cliffhanger launch and traitor seduction
Thursday’s launch episode of the BBC reality game show ended on a cliffhanger, where viewers saw Acaster and Rajan meet TV presenter Jama and actor Grant face to face to plead their case to be seduced into becoming a traitor rather than being murdered and leaving the game.
After discovering his fate on Friday’s episode, University Challenge presenter Rajan said: “It’s game over, it’s gutting to be the first out, but James is a fantastic player, and I guess people aren’t going to suspect him, and they might suspect me.”
After being seduced, Acaster said: “I can’t believe I’m a traitor, I’m gutted to not be faithful anymore, I don’t like lying, but if I don’t join, then they kill me.”
Second mission and murder shortlist
During the episode, the stars were given their second mission which involved them getting into pairs. They were then all buried alive, apart from Ross Kemp who the traitors chose to shield, and Romesh Ranganathan who he was partnered with.
All celebrities bar Hannah Fry and Jerry Hall were freed, with the latter yelling "haggis" therefore putting herself and Hannah on the murder shortlist.
Viewers defend Leigh-Anne
With the first roundtable to banish someone approached, the celebrities became desperate to work out who the traitors are. For Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne, she was a popular topic of conversation.
Over the course of the first two episodes, others suspected her as being suspicious due to her touching-up her makeup before leaving the castle at night.
However, viewers were left upset over the "unfair accusation". On X one viewer wrote: "Yeah sorry but I’m always touching up my make up because I have oily skin, justice for Leigh-Anne".
Another added: "Re Leigh-Anne touching up her makeup, I thought they’re not supposed to use external factors in their reasonings- only things directly related to the game?" A third echoed: "Leigh-Anne might get banished and I will lose it if she does".
Someone else wrote: "!LEAVE LEIGH ANNE ALONE" as another added: "I'm so upset this is so unfair on Leigh-Anne."
