Traitors fan: breakfast timing proves who are 'obviously Faithful'

A Scottish fan of The Traitors has shared a theory on social media that he believes proves which players are "obviously Faithfuls" — and it all comes down to the timing of arrivals at breakfast.

With the Celebrity series currently airing on BBC One, the fan took to TikTok to explain his reasoning. He said that when the Traitors meet in the turret at the end of each episode, they discuss who to murder and settle on three names, which are then held back as a cliffhanger for the next show.

Breakfast arrivals reveal the truth

According to the fan, when the next episode begins and the players gather for breakfast, the last two people to walk in are guaranteed to be Faithfuls. He explained that one of the three names chosen by the Traitors will not appear because they have been murdered, meaning the remaining two from that list must be safe.

He said: "When the Traitors are in the turret at the end of the night, at the end of the show, they are going 'Who do we pick?' They are humming and hawing but they give three names of the people they are going to choose. They keep it as a cliffhanger for the next show."

He added: "So when the next show starts they all come in for breakfast. The last three that are going to come in - one of them isn't going to come in because they're obviously been murdered - so the last two are obviously Faithfuls because they were in the three people that they talk about."

Viewers react to the theory

Some viewers were convinced by the theory. One person commented: "This is 100 per cent right. I said this to my Mrs and she couldn't get her head round it. I said at the least, the last person in 100 per cent is a faithful."

Another fan wrote: "Omg I feel you just switched a light on in my head," while a third said: "I've never thought about that!! OMG!"

However, not everyone agrees. Rachel Duffy, who won season four of the regular series alongside fellow Traitor Stephen Libby, wrote: "I was one of the last ones in after the first murder in series four but then again I was obviously a Faithful."

Other viewers also pushed back, with one saying: "It's not true. They do do that but they also mix it up and include traitors sometimes." Another TikTok user added: "That is just how they edit for us to see," and a third noted: "Traitors come in with the last group sometimes. Also they record that scene multiple times with different people for that exact reason."

The Celebrity Traitors will return on Thursday, October 15 at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
