Strictly viewers demand shake-up after Josh Widdicombe blunder

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have called for a presenter shake-up after spotting an awkward exchange between hosts Josh Widdicombe and Emma Willis during Saturday's show.

The moment came after Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola performed their Samba, which opened the October 10 episode. Following the judges' feedback, Emma began speaking to the couple, saying: "You're always so like, 'Oh, I don't know'. But it's done now-" before Josh cut in with: "Just so you know that's (the judges' feedback) really good, get upstairs, get away from them."

Viewers react to the awkward moment

Some audience members applauded, assuming Josh had finished the conversation, but Emma continued: "You came out here first and it's all out the way and you can relax." Unsure whether to leave or stay, Vito asked if they were heading upstairs to chat with Johannes Radebe, and both agreed to go.

Fans quickly took to X to share their thoughts, with one writing: "Josh telling them to go upstairs before Emma was finished speaking to them... oh lord." Another added: "Emma just talked all over Josh when he said to Vito and Lacey to go upstairs. Felt awkward #strictly #scd"

Calls for a role swap

Some viewers demanded a change in the presenting lineup, with one saying: "Josh isn't working downstairs at all #Strictly" and another adding: "Josh still looking like a spare part. Get him upstairs please! #Strictly"

However, not all reactions were negative. One fan said: "Emma Willis is fab..so natural with the contestants..loving her on #strictly. Johannes and Josh are definitely more settled as well." Another added: "Time for the terrific @bbcstrictly @EmmaWillis, Josh Widdicombe and @jojo_radebe host the absolutely charming delight."

Judges' scores for Lacey Turner

Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse awarded Lacey and Vito a six for their Samba, while Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke gave them a seven, leaving the actress with an overall score of 26 for week three, two points down from her Movie Week routine.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:15pm.
