Strictly pro predicts Shaun exit ahead of Icons Week

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan has predicted that Shaun Wright-Phillips will be eliminated from the BBC show this weekend during Icons Week.

The remaining contestants will transform into well-known celebrities, taking inspiration from the likes of Adele, Shania Twain and David Bowie, as they hope to impress the judges and viewers at home to remain in the competition.

So far, Strictly has bid farewell to Chris Appleton and Melanie Walters after they were not saved by the judges when they landed in the dance-off. This Sunday night (October 18), another contestant will exit the show and lose their chance at lifting the Glitterball trophy.

Jordan's prediction for the bottom two

James Jordan, who was part of Strictly for eight years before leaving in 2018, shared his thoughts on who he believes could be at risk of landing in the bottom two this weekend.

Speaking to WalesOnline publishers Reach Plc via WhichBingo, he said: "It's got to be Shaun, Shaun will be one. And the other one will be... oh, it's really hard."

"I'm going to say, Sarah and Julian. Don't know why, but ultimately Shaun will be packing his bags, unless he gets a Charleston or something like that and pulls out a fantastic performance, but I just can't see it."

Shaun's dance-off history

Shaun found himself in the bottom two in week three of the competition, having to perform his Quickstep once again with his partner Alexis Warr. Speaking about what happened after they took to the dancefloor again, Alexis explained Shaun was emotional while on It Takes Two.

She told BBC's Ellie Taylor: "After he did it, he got emotional. We went backstage, and he started getting all teared up."

Explaining how he felt, Shaun replied: "I performed it; she [Alexis] was over the moon about it, so that made me even happier. It honestly felt like I was climbing Mount Everest or something."

Upcoming routine

This upcoming weekend, the duo will do their couple's choice routine to a James Brown medley, as they told the BBC host it was going "very well".

He added: "She's trying a different tactic this week in terms of learning everything at once. Instead of trying to do it like a puzzle, I'm doing it all in one, so teaching the arms and legs together, start to get more coordination into it."

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturdays on BBC One from 6:15pm.
