Motsi Mabuse reveals Strictly judges' real dynamic

Motsi Mabuse has shared what it is really like working with the Strictly Come Dancing judges, six years on from when they first started working together.

It was last month that Motsi was seen returning to the BBC One dance show's judging panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke as the new line-up of 15 celebrities and their professional dance partners took to the dance floor to perform their debut routines.

It was last weekend that the second live show took place, with all the couples bringing a touch of movie magic to the dance floor with a dazzling array of routines, keen to impress the judges - and viewers - ahead of the first elimination of the 2026 series.

First elimination of the series

Sadly, it wasn't Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden's year as they became the first couple to leave Strictly's 2026 series, despite a plea from fans to keep them in the competition following the professional dancer's early exit last year.

Since then, the remaining 14 couples have headed back to the training room, as they'll be performing again in week three of the competition this Saturday (October 10) night.

But ahead of returning to the famous ballroom this weekend, Motsi has given a little glimpse at what it's like behind the scenes between her and her fellow judges.

Behind the scenes glimpse

She shared a clip of them filming social media content for Strictly, with the foursome attempting a TikTok dance. Across the BTS video, Motsi wrote: "Nobody knows what they're doing, but everyone is committed."

She then captioned the video on Instagram: "Six years of this little judging team [heart emoji]. And somehow, every year, laugh louder and have even more fun together. What you see here is genuinely us, live show in 15 mins [crying laughing emoji]. Five minutes to learn a TikTok, complete chaos, no one taking themselves too seriously, and just enjoying each other. Very grateful for this little team."

And the post was quickly flooded with comments. @seankellyoneill said: "Always chaotic, always iconic but always fun. We love you all." @mandy.e.smith.58 commented: "I love watching how you gel so much together , you can joke with each other , even bicker but that is what friendship is." @lanajwilcock73 replied: "This is why we love you all !!!! Hilarious!!!! I love it !!!!" @sarahcrims added: "The best judging panel right there."
