Former Traitors contestant Minah Shannon has warned that Maya Jama risks being exposed by the Faithful because of a repeated habit on the BBC show Celebrity Traitors.
The first two episodes of Celebrity Traitors have already delivered considerable drama, with 21 well-known personalities arriving in Scotland for a contest of lies and treachery, combined with secret missions, in hopes of winning a cash prize for their chosen charity.
Claudia Winkleman has resumed her role as host and selected television presenter Maya Jama and actor Richard E. Grant as the initial Traitors, with comedian James Acaster subsequently brought in as the third member of their coven.
Grant's open admission
Moments after Claudia confirmed the Traitors had been selected, Grant openly declared to Joe Lycett that he was a Traitor, leaving the Faithfuls uncertain whether his admission was genuine or a jest.
During a dramatic second installment, the Traitors faced a decision between James Acaster and Amol Rajan, with one celebrity destined for recruitment and the other facing murder, reports Wales Online.
Their selection was Acaster, who received his induction as a Traitor from Grant and Jama. "James, we'd like to welcome you as a new Traitor to the coven", Grant told him.
Smiling could give the game away
While speculation intensifies regarding the group's potential Traitors, Maya has thus far escaped significant scrutiny from the Faithfuls. However, she may betray herself if her perpetual grinning persists, according to former Traitors contestant Minah Shannon.
During Thursday's (October 8) edition of Morning Live, Minah, a contestant from the third series of the BBC programme, cautioned that Maya risks being exposed by the Traitors.
She explained: "We have got Maya Jama, who is also a Traitor chosen by Claudia, now I think she is the stronger of the two. However, I am finding she is smiling a lot; she seems really excited to be there.
"For the Faithfuls, there is no reason to smile because you're so paranoid. So I think that might give the game away. She needs to stop smiling."
Fellow contestants agree
Dr Kasim Ahmed, who has likewise featured on The Traitors, concurred with Minah and quipped: "I didn't sleep for about three weeks, and then six months afterward."
Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones chipped in: "It's exhausting to watch, you have to be on your game the whole time."
The question remains whether Maya will inadvertently reveal herself as a Traitor. The Celebrity Traitors airs Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
