Married At First Sight UK viewers have demanded that bride Julia-Ruth Smith be removed from the show after what they describe as 'bare-faced lying' to her husband, Divarni Groce-Balogun. Co-stars have also issued a stern warning to Divarni about his wife's behaviour.
In Monday's episode, Divarni learned from fellow groom Bailey Smith that Julia-Ruth had told the other brides she does not fancy her husband and never will. Bailey told Divarni: 'She's been saying something totally different to everyone else and then behind closed doors. It's not fair, but you've been totally respectful and in my opinion, she hasn't towards you.'
When confronted, Julia-Ruth admitted to telling the group about attraction issues, citing height as a factor. Divarni accused her of leading him on emotionally, asking why she had sex with him multiple times if she felt no attraction. Julia-Ruth replied that she did so 'to see if there was something there' and because 'it felt good' and she felt safe.
Viewers were appalled, with one writing on X: 'Julia-Ruth is scary boy #MAFSUK.' Another said: 'There's keeping secrets and then there's bare-faced lying.' The couple, who married after meeting at the altar, have had a turbulent relationship since the show began last month.
