Married At First Sight Australia groom Danny Hewitt, 34, has been caught on unseen footage making brutal comments about his ex-wife Bec Zacharia, 35. The footage, which was never intended for broadcast, shows the British groom demanding 'better women' and insulting Bec's appearance and personality.
The clip was revealed on the spin-off show MAFS: After The Dinner Party, where it was played for Bec and her co-star Rachel Gilmore. In the footage, Danny tells a producer: 'You’re telling me that’s the best you could bring me? You ought to be ashamed of yourself, MAFS dude.' He adds: 'I can f**king walk in Coles and get a better bird than that.'
Bec, who was blindsided by Danny at Final Vows when he ended their marriage, was visibly upset after watching the clip. She revealed that on the same day the comments were made, Danny had told her he was 'falling in love with her'. She said: 'That afternoon, as soon as those cameras left, that's when he told me he was falling in love with me.'
Danny has since apologised, saying he is 'sorry from the bottom of his heart' and feels 'so ashamed of himself'. Bec has moved on and is reportedly dating British reality TV star and male escort Marcus Rich.
