MAFS Expert Alessandra Rampolla Spotted Looking Tense During Sydney Filming
As she prepares to star in what promises to be one of the most controversial seasons of Married At First Sight yet, expert Alessandra Rampolla was recently spotted looking unusually tense and downcast during filming in Sydney. The 51-year-old television sexologist appeared worlds away from her typically cheery on-screen persona when she stepped out onto her hotel balcony to take a phone call, her body language suggesting a heavy conversation was underway.
Emotional Moments Captured on Set
Observers noted that Alessandra's concern visibly grew as she stared into the distance, appearing to be on the verge of tears at one point. She was seen pausing to take a deep breath, as if consciously trying to compose herself during what seemed to be an emotionally charged moment. Despite the apparent stress, the expert was fully prepared for her television duties, sporting an orange and white striped dressing gown with a full face of makeup and styled hair, accessorised with statement earrings and several bangles.
Inside the Most Explosive Season Yet
The Puerto Rican-born star recently revealed to Daily Mail that viewers should brace themselves for an exceptionally dramatic season that has even pushed the show's experts to their breaking points. "This is now my sixth year doing the series," Alessandra explained. "In previous seasons, one or two participants carried most of the drama. With this cast, the drama is spread out... and explosive."
According to the seasoned expert, the new season features a cast full of "big personalities" that will deliver numerous "Jekyll and Hyde moments" for audiences. She described the female participants as particularly challenging, noting: "The women are feisty, combative and sometimes toxic."
Revealing Cast Dynamics and Relationship Struggles
Alessandra expressed particular concern about the disconnect between how some participants present during casting versus how they behave during filming. "Some of the participants are lovely in casting... they have it all together, they're hopeful, their behaviour is good and they appear to be honourable," she said. "Then you watch them interact at the dinner parties, and sometimes I wonder, 'Who is this person I spoke to a few months ago?'"
When asked which personality types typically struggle most on the show, Alessandra was unequivocal: "Whoever is not really ready to open up and be vulnerable and be real is going to struggle."
Addressing Common Misconceptions About the Show
The expert also addressed what she sees as one of the biggest relationship issues plaguing this season's cast: their obsession with instant chemistry. "I don't understand why participants are always so hung up on initial attraction," Alessandra remarked. "Because they're married at first sight, people assume it has to be love at first sight. But we're thinking about commitment first, and then building the relationship. It's the other way around."
Married At First Sight returns to screens for its highly anticipated new season on Monday, February 2 on Channel Nine, promising what may be the most dramatic instalment in the show's history according to those closest to the production.
