Josie Gibson Slams David Haye's 'Dark Side' Over I'm A Celeb Feud with Adam Thomas
Josie Gibson Slams David Haye Over I'm A Celeb Feud

Josie Gibson launched into a scathing tirade against David Haye live on Good Morning Britain, accusing the boxer of revealing his 'dark side' during the I'm A Celebrity All Stars series. The former reality star, who appeared on the 2023 edition of the show, joined the ITV daytime programme on Friday to promote her new series, How To Clean Up For Cash. However, the conversation swiftly turned to her friend Adam Thomas and his unpleasant experiences in the South African jungle.

Josie Defends Adam Thomas

Adam Thomas was crowned the Ultimate Legend during Friday's live final, following a series of heated on-screen clashes with David Haye and Jimmy Bullard. The pair argued that the altercations had been unfairly edited. Josie, however, made her allegiance clear, describing Adam and his brothers Scott and Ryan as 'the kind of guys you would like your daughter to bring home.'

Addressing the conflict directly, Josie stated: 'What David Haye did to him is the dark side of fame. He saw him as a winner and tried to play with his mind. It's just not fair, it's not right.' Her comments come after viewers heavily criticised David for his behaviour towards Adam, which included mocking him for not volunteering for a trial due to illness.

Adam's Emotional Response

Adam previously admitted that he had to consult his therapist about David's treatment during filming, after being accused of lacking 'mental strength' to compete. In an emotional episode of his family's podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bros, the Waterloo Road actor broke down in tears while discussing the ordeal.

He explained: 'It's so difficult because even when I got out and I explained what I went through, you guys, my friends, you won't understand what I went through. The fact that it's been turned into entertainment for live television, for a show, for a family show that I loved. I've got so much to thank this show for, ten years ago this show put me on the map. Even after the live show and everything that happened, I still can't escape it.'

Adam said he is struggling with the ongoing social media commentary, adding that he is 'tired and want it all to go away and be forgotten about.' Choking back tears, he continued: 'The sad truth is that everyone will go on with their lives but for me, this will be in me for the rest of my life. I will live with everything that's happened from the very start and to the very finish, this is part of my DNA now, it's made me the person that I am.'

Final Confrontation

The live final descended into chaos when Jimmy Bullard labelled Adam's behaviour as 'abusive, aggressive and intimidating,' as he and David confronted Adam. Jimmy also criticised hosts Ant and Dec for editing out parts of the argument. David has staunchly denied any bullying, insisting it was all in good faith and simply banter on both sides.
