Jimmy King (Nick Miles) is facing a devastating exit from Emmerdale, with his life falling apart around him. His marriage to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is strained after she admitted their romance felt stale, and his attempts to fix things have backfired.
Marriage troubles and financial ruin
Jimmy arranged a date at the Woolpack, but it fell flat, and a jewellery gift only led to accusations of cheating. Now the couple are discussing a vow renewal, but just as things seem to improve, financial worries push Jimmy into secrecy.
Unbeknownst to him, Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) paid Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) to intercept one of Jimmy's haulage shipments. The loss left him in dire financial straits, forcing him to sell his half of the haulage company. When Jimmy discovers Ruby's role in his downfall, he is enraged but too ashamed to tell Nicola, fearing she would leave him.
Rage and guilt
Seeing Jimmy's anger, Ruby and Caleb (William Ash) offer him a sweetener to keep quiet. For Ruby, it's routine, but Caleb feels guilty. Jimmy is left crestfallen, as his business meant everything to him. Bob (Tony Audenshaw) tries to lift his spirits, but nothing helps.
With his death imminent, there's no chance of Jimmy's luck improving. The question remains whether he dies at the hands of a wife who uncovers yet another lie.
