ITV's The Summit Launches with Celebrity Daughter Contestant

ITV's new reality show, The Summit, premieres tonight (February 10) at 9pm on ITV1, hosted by This Morning presenter Ben Shephard. The series follows 13 non-celebrity contestants as they attempt to climb one of New Zealand's tallest mountains, covering a 100-kilometre journey to reach the summit at 8,500ft, with a share of up to £200,000 at stake.

Among the contestants is Afton McKeith, daughter of I'm A Celebrity star Gillian McKeith. The 24-year-old pageant and fitness coach, who competed for Miss England last year, said she wanted to push herself out of her comfort zone and take on a new adventure to grow as an individual.

Afton cited her leadership skills and strategic thinking as her greatest assets, but admitted that her 'lack of hygiene' was a significant concern and her primary weakness. The show, already a hit in Australia, was originally scheduled for 2025 but was pushed back to 2026 due to scheduling, according to TVZone.
