ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has been plunged into a viewer revolt following the controversial eviction of comedian Ruby Wax. Fans have taken to social media in droves, with many vowing to switch off the hit series for good, accusing producers of a 'conspiracy'.
Viewer Backlash Over Jungle Eviction
The decision to vote the veteran comedian out of the Australian camp after 19 days has sparked significant anger online. On Instagram, one disgruntled fan declared, "I'm not watching anymore," while praising Wax as the "funniest person ever". The sentiment was widely echoed, with another viewer expressing sadness at the end of Wax's budding friendship with fellow campmate Lisa Riley.
The outrage spread to platform X (formerly Twitter), where accusations flew. "I am so angry that Ruby Wax has been voted off! What is wrong with you all?" one user posted. Another questioned the official narrative, stating, "Makers are saying Ruby left due to lack of votes - How this possible she is the most loved campmate outside, how can she get less votes, Is some Conspiracy in her eviction."
Ruby's Shocked Exit and Camp Secrets
In her exit interview, a stunned Ruby Wax said she had "totally forgot the outside world" and felt deeply bonded with her campmates. "I was their Queen, how could I be abducted," she quipped. She credited her "charm" for allowing her to get away with being "naughty" in camp, adding "I can't believe I have been voted out."
Her departure was preceded by another camp scandal involving hidden treats. Before her own exit on December 4, Kelly Brook revealed that she, along with YouTuber 'Angry Ginge' and musician Aitch, had secretly kept extra milk bottles won in a Dingo Dollars challenge. Ginge later admitted to the camp there were 13 bottles in total, not 10, and they had kept some for themselves.
Presenters Blast 'Dirty Little Liars'
The secret milk bottle saga did not sit well with hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly. When they learned the incident had been brushed over in camp, Ant was furious, branding Ginge and Aitch "liars". "What? That's terrible man!" he exclaimed. Dec echoed the sentiment, calling the pair "dirty little liars".
This year's series continues to be dogged by controversy, following earlier discoveries of contraband in the camp. With a significant portion of the audience threatening to boycott, ITV faces a challenge in retaining viewers for the remainder of the series, which continues nightly at 9pm.
