ITV's hit reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! experienced unexpected chaos during Monday's episode when a technical malfunction left presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly visibly bewildered live on air.
Live Television Glitch Causes Presenter Panic
As the programme returned from a commercial break, viewers were met with an alarming loud noise instead of the familiar I'm A Celebrity theme tune. The sudden technical failure saw the experienced hosting duo quickly scrambling to regain control of the situation.
'We're back, are we back?' a confused Dec asked his co-host before adding, 'I think we're back.' Demonstrating their professional composure, Ant quickly recovered by declaring: 'See anything can happen! Isn't it exciting?'
The awkward moment didn't escape the attention of sharp-eyed fans, who immediately took to social media platform X to express their confusion and amusement at the unexpected broadcast blunder.
Viewer Reaction and Social Media Frenzy
One astonished viewer tweeted: 'What the hell was that noise after the ad break?? I'm crying,' while another wrote: 'Wtf was that? my TV just nearly exploded.' The technical mishap clearly made an impression, with multiple fans questioning the missing introduction and strange sound effects.
Meanwhile, in the jungle camp, the celebrities were adjusting to their new environment with varying degrees of success. Radio presenter Kelly Brook, 45, became the first campmate to express longing for her luxurious normal life upon waking.
'This is definitely a departure from what I'm used to,' she admitted, though viewers were quick to note that she maintained her glamorous appearance despite the challenging conditions.
Jungle Drama and Celebrity Antics
Fans took to social media to praise Brook's enduring beauty, with comments including: 'Kelly Brook still looks glamorous after one night in the jungle' and 'Kelly Brook really does look better with age, doesn't she?'
The former model faced an early jungle challenge when a bug landed on her hand while she was brushing her teeth, causing her to squeal and accidentally send her toothbrush flying into the wilderness below.
'I can't go three weeks without my toothbrush, my breath will stink,' she panicked before Lisa Riley came to her rescue by retrieving the essential item from the jungle undergrowth.
Fellow campmate Aitch was impressed by Riley's quick thinking, telling the Bush Telegraph: 'Lisa saved the day, she got right down there, I don't even think she's allowed down there to be honest. She's breaking the rules and everything, she's a badman.'
Elsewhere in camp, comedian Eddie Kadi, 42, remained blissfully unaware as a rat crawled across him while he slept comfortably in the bed he'd won during Sunday's challenge. The 42-year-old woke in high spirits after his quality rest, much to Brook's annoyance.
'Of course you did. You're in paradise up there,' she remarked, pointing to her own inferior sleeping arrangements and noting: 'Look at this. There's not even a blanket in here.'
The show also featured a group meditation session led by Ruby Wax, who revealed she'd studied neuroscience, mindfulness and cognitive therapy at Oxford University, describing her fellow students as 'snobby.'
According to reports, Brook is receiving a fee of £80,000 for her participation, significantly less than the previously speculated £300,000. The presenter had previously declared she would 'never' appear on the show, stating in 2018 that there were 'a million' other things she'd rather do, including working in her local pub.
'I don't want to eat eyeballs or sheep testicles and all the things they have to eat on there,' she had said on her Heart radio show, adding that even facing a 'huge tax bill' wouldn't persuade her to participate. Her recent U-turn is reportedly thanks to persuasion from her husband, Jeremy Parisi.
