Gogglebox favourite Pete Sandiford has opened up about his home life ahead of the new series, admitting that filming with sister Sophie feels like a break from the chaos of parenting.
The TV star first joined the Channel 4 show in 2017 for series 10 with sister Sophie, and it didn't take them long to become firm favourites. Over the years, Pete and Sophie - who live in Blackpool - have had fans in stitches thanks to their witty banter, one-liners and comical takes on the telly highlights.
Life as a father of two
Away from the TV show, Pete is married to wife Paige. The pair are parents to two children, Jimmy - born in 2021 - and Eva - born in 2023.
Ahead of the new Gogglebox series starting, Pete has given an insight into life as a father to two kids. Discussing their recent summer break from filming, Sophie said: "I enjoy the break, but we do like going back to filming don't we?"
However, Pete then added: "It's all right for you; you've not got two kids screaming round the house! You know, going round to Soph's to film and stuff is like my break. The summer holidays are just flat-out carnage at home."
'Out of the trenches'
Making a candid confession, he continued: "This morning, we had our breakfast in six games of Uno - it's just ridiculous. My little lad's five, and my little girl was three in May, so we're out of the trenches because she does sleep through now, but then they're flat out all day."
As for Sophie - who got engaged last year - she visited Spain over the summer which was "lovely". She explained: "My in-laws have a place there, so it's quite easy to get away."
Pete's relationship with Paige
Pete has remained somewhat tight-lipped on when he first met Paige, but in 2020 they went Instagram official and confirmed their romance - which is believed to have started in 2019.
Alongside a sweet photo of the pair, Pete penned: "My Mrs and best mate what more could I ask for? Don't worry @sophiesandiford1 you are a close second best friend. This was taken last year FYI."
Paige reportedly works as an Emergency Services call handler, who studied at Queen Mary University of London and worked at House of Fraser.
Gogglebox airs every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
