One person has been killed after being struck by a car in a grocery store car park in Los Angeles. The incident took place in the car park of a Trader Joe's on Thursday afternoon.
Officials said the Tesla crashed into a security stand, killing one person and injuring at least four others. The store is located on Third Street and Fairfax Avenue.
Emergency response
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the crash near the Trader Joe's in the Beverly Grove area around 1.20 pm, with police also attending the scene. The LAFD confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene while four others were treated by emergency services and rushed to hospital.
Driver details
The driver reportedly lost control of her vehicle, causing her to hit a parked car and the pedestrians before smashing into the security stand, according to NBC reports. The driver has been described as an 80-year-old woman, who has also been hospitalised.
