Gary Sweet Breaks Down in Tears as Dyson Heppell Exits I'm a Celebrity Australia
Gary Sweet Cries Over Dyson Heppell's I'm a Celebrity Exit

In a deeply emotional moment on Wednesday's episode of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Australia, veteran Australian actor Gary Sweet was seen breaking down in tears. The heartfelt display came after his good friend and fellow contestant, former Essendon footballer Dyson Heppell, was eliminated from the jungle reality show.

A Tough Farewell in the Jungle

The pair had faced off in a tense piano challenge to determine who would stay in the competition. Dyson emerged victorious, securing his place but inadvertently sending Gary home. As the reality of the situation set in, Gary struggled to contain his emotions, visibly swiping away tears while reflecting on their bond.

'Gee, I made a great friend. A great person. A great person,' Gary repeated, his voice trembling as he fought back sobs. He openly admitted that losing his mate was 'tough', highlighting how close they had become during their time in camp.

Dyson's Gracious Exit and Camp Tensions

Dyson Heppell took his departure in good spirits, though he confessed to disappointment. 'It's sad leaving the jungle. Not an ideal scenario,' he stated, before paying tribute to Gary: 'My man Gaz... Absolute star you are, my friend. Absolute pleasure.'

However, in a post-elimination interview with Who Magazine, Dyson revealed that 'tensions and emotions certainly got a lot higher' in the camp as contestants began choosing who would face elimination. He noted a shift in dynamics but added they were 'having a bit of a laugh watching the show back seeing the reactions.'

Broader Camp Drama Unfolds

The emotional exit followed earlier conflicts on Monday's episode, where fan favourite Barry Williams, star of The Brady Bunch, was voted off after losing a challenge to Neighbours actress Rebekah Elmaloglou. While Barry accepted his departure gracefully, calling the experience a 'dream come true', other campmates reacted less calmly.

Married At First Sight star Cyrell Paule stormed off in anger, accusing male campmates of favouritism after she and Rebekah were selected for elimination. 'It's bulls**t! There are favourites here, and I am clearly not one of them,' she raged, needing time alone to avoid going 'cyclone' on them.

Rebekah Elmaloglou echoed the sentiment, stating, 'They said Cyrell and I are their least favourites, and that isn't very nice to hear.' Although calmed by female campmates, Cyrell vowed neither to forgive nor forget the boys' actions.

Reflections on a Jungle Journey

Barry Williams, meanwhile, exited with humility, telling hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris, 'It's safe to say it's unforgettable. And I embraced every part of it, from the very beginning. This was my dream, and it was everything I could have hoped for.'

The episode underscored the intense emotional rollercoaster of the jungle experience, from Gary Sweet's tearful goodbye to Dyson Heppell to the simmering tensions and dramatic outbursts that continue to shape the camp's dynamics.
