Emmerdale spoilers: Joe's revenge plan and Vinny's sentence

Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) was left in tears in Emmerdale as he received a 10-year prison sentence for his role in the deaths of Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Jimmy King (Nick Miles). Dawn and Jimmy died in August after Vinny took a phone call while driving, leading to a chain of events that claimed their lives. Vinny pleaded guilty, and in tonight's episode, he said his goodbyes before heading to court, where the judge made an example of him with the lengthy sentence.

Joe Tate's secret move

Unbeknownst to Vinny, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had paid off the judge to ensure a harsh punishment. Kim Tate (Claire King), meanwhile, believed she had found an ally in DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge), unaware of her true motives. Later, Kim found herself at the centre of a major twist.

What happens next in Emmerdale?

In Tuesday's episode, Joe turns his attention to the Miligans, revealing his plan to Sadie King (Patsy Kensit). He wants Sadie to spy on Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash) and gather evidence that could destroy them. Sadie, however, is hesitant about the idea.

Elsewhere, Matty Barton (Ash Palminsciano) struggles with the new setup at the farm, losing sleep after the arrival of Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), Sarah (Katie Hill), and baby Leyla. At Wishing Well, Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick) are excited about Samson's (Sam Hall) return, but when Cain (Jeff Hordley) arrives in a bad mood, they decide to keep the news from him.

Robert (Ryan Hawley) is eager to reopen The Hide but faces a setback when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) says the paperwork could take a month. The issue is resolved, and the opening is set for the following day, though a subsequent conversation could derail the plans.

Emmerdale airs Tuesday, October 13 at 8pm on ITV1 or streams from 7am on ITVX or YouTube.
