The owners of NEST Dining, a Newcastle restaurant where Sunday lunch tables were often booked months in advance, have confirmed its closure, marking the end of their "childhood dream."
The fine-dining venue opened on Chillingham Road in Heaton in 2021, offering an "indulgent dining" experience with a "warm, welcoming, informal atmosphere." Now, the owners say it is with "a very heavy heart" that they have decided to close their "dream" first venue.
Reasons Behind the Closure
Sharing the news online, the owners cited "the state of the economy on taxes and energy bills" as the reason behind the decision.
They wrote: "After an amazing 5 years of delivering our dream, it’s with a very heavy heart that we have to announce the closure of our first venture NEST Dining on Chillingham Road in Heaton.
"It has been a truly amazing experience to be able to serve some of the most amazing guests and employ the most beautiful of people. A childhood dream created with our own hands and delivered with care has been cut short by the state of the economy on taxes and energy bills."
