Emmerdale fans predict Samson Dingle twist after release news

Emmerdale fans are predicting that Samson Dingle will not return to the village after his prison release, despite news of his impending freedom being shared in a recent episode.

This week, it was declared that Samson, played by Sam Hall, would be leaving prison in a matter of weeks, with no official confirmation. His family, including dad Sam Dingle, have been preparing for his comeback, and this preparation continues in upcoming scenes. However, many viewers believe Samson will be released but will not actually appear on screen.

Fans predict a twist

Some fans also think something could prevent Samson from leaving prison, given he is being released before his original sentence duration. Taking to social media, one fan said: "I'm not convinced Samson will want to return to the village when he gets released." Another fan agreed: "I’ve a hunch Samson isn’t coming back."

A third fan said: "Can we please stop pretending that Samson is coming back since i've not seen any formal confimation of this?!" A fourth fan wrote: "Samson isn't coming back." Another comment read: "Wonder if Samson could get killed off in prison on the day he's realised." A fan then asked: "Will Samson actually come home though?"

Another prisoner release teased

A final post said: "I think it’s just talk and right before his release he will get into a fight or something found in his cell and lose his good behaviour and get kept in prison as he’s not coming back."

It comes after another return was announced. Another prisoner, Tom King, is said to be released soon. It is not known if he will actually leave prison, but the character will be seen onscreen. Actor James Chase is reprising the role, a year after his departure. Belle Dingle will be told that her abusive ex-husband is due to be let out of prison soon, leaving her in turmoil.

She decides to visit Tom in prison, as she learns from vicar Charles Anderson that Tom apparently wants forgiveness. Belle's loved ones worry for her and fear what might happen if Tom returns. Belle confides in Rhona, and soon Rhona tells Belle's brother Cain that Tom could be more dangerous than ever. So will Tom leave prison and head back to the village, or will this be a brief onscreen comeback for the character?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
