Emmerdale has finally revealed the secret location of Baby Tate. The infant is safe and well, appearing in the arms of Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) at a secluded mystery cottage. The scene revealed Kim Tate (Claire King) arriving at the hideout with supplies, confirming her involvement in the secret plot.
Graham and Kim defy Joe's orders
Baby Tate's arrival into the world was nothing short of tragic, as Dawn Taylor died as a result of childbirth after she was injured as Jimmy King crashed his car into the wedding marquee. Although the baby was healthy, Joe struggled to bond with him, blaming his son for Dawn's death. Instead, he told Graham Foster to organise a private adoption.
Graham tried his best to change Joe's mind, but eventually agreed to do so, adding that it would be the last thing he ever did for him and viewers haven't seen him since. In a dramatic twist during Monday's episode (12th October), viewers finally discovered the whereabouts of Baby Tate.
Emotional conclusion
The episode concluded on an emotional note with the narration of a letter from Vinny to Nicola, in which he apologised for the tragic accident that claimed the life of her husband, Jimmy King. As we watched the scenes of Kim arriving at the cottage and letting herself in to visit the pair.
With the baby's location still hidden from Joe, questions remain regarding how he will react upon learning that Graham defied his orders to put the child up for adoption. This baby, a Tate heir, provides Kim with a definitive opportunity to redeem herself. When Thea eventually learns the truth, Kim may finally be able to prove that she has attempted to make amends for the family's past.
Producer's insight
Sophie Roper, Emmerdale Producer, commented: "Kim was devastated at the prospect of Joe giving the baby up for adoption. While it initially appeared that Graham and Kim had resigned themselves to the plan, they have secretly intervened to ensure the baby remains safe and hidden away."
Desperate for Joe not to come to regret his decision, Kim's determined to find a way to reunite father and son but with Joe still consumed by grief over losing Dawn and Thea set on vengeance against Kim, can Kim and Graham continue to protect their secret?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX and YouTube.
