David Haye: I'm A Celeb Trials Might Be Illegal

David Haye Shocked by Intensity of I'm A Celebrity All Stars Trials

Former world champion boxer David Haye has made a startling revelation about the latest series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, suggesting that some of the challenges are so extreme they might border on illegality. The 45-year-old athlete, who first appeared on the show in 2012, returned for the All Stars edition and was taken aback by how much harder the trials have become.

Trials Turned Up to Unprecedented Levels

In an exclusive interview ahead of the show's launch, Haye admitted that his initial experience over a decade ago felt relatively easy in comparison. He explained, "The first time I did it, it felt it was very easy for me. The trials weren't that hard at all." However, this time around, producers have significantly ramped up the difficulty. Haye praised them for "turning up the heat" after he vocalised his desire for a greater challenge.

He joked about the severity of the tasks, stating, "Some of the stuff they were getting us to do I wouldn't have thought it was legal to do it." Despite this, Haye noted that all campmates were fully prepared and gave their absolute best, likely due to past experiences and public scrutiny.

Campmates Rise to the Challenge

Haye observed that participants in the South African camp, including those who may not have fully committed in previous appearances, were now pushing themselves to the limit. He said, "This time around, it was as though people really knew the outcome of them quitting. So people really gave it 100%." He expressed admiration for their efforts, admitting he was unsure if he could match their determination during certain trials.

Reflecting on the camp environment, Haye shared that he felt more relaxed and mentally prepared this time, even enjoying the basic food of beans and rice more than before. His improved mindset allowed him to embrace the experience without the same level of anxiety he felt during his first stint.

Sinitta's Camp Confessions and Career Plans

Meanwhile, '80s pop icon Sinitta disclosed her own camp secrets, revealing she smuggled contraband items to enhance meal times. She recounted, "Last time I had salt that I managed to take from the trolley on the planes. But this time, I took coffee as well." Sinitta humorously described how coffee sachets from their pre-camp lodges ended up in her bra, showcasing her resourcefulness.

Sinitta also revealed plans to use the show as a platform to reignite her music career, with new releases scheduled in the coming weeks. She admitted, however, to a missed opportunity in camp, as the song that became an ear worm for her wasn't one of her own tracks. She called this a "school girl error," but noted that everyone enjoyed it nonetheless.

The I'm A Celebrity... South Africa series features a 12-strong camp of returning celebrities, creating a dynamic and competitive atmosphere. Alongside David Haye and Sinitta, the lineup includes:
