Coronation Street villain Paula is set to return to Weatherfield next week, bringing trouble for Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney). Actress Kellie Hollis, who plays Paula, confirmed her comeback in an Instagram video, warning fans that the reunion will be far from smooth.

In the video, Hollis said: 'I've got a Coronation Street update for you, but this time it's about me because yes I'm back!' She added: 'If you know, I did a little stint at Corrie at the beginning of the year in jail with poor Debbie and after those they booked me for some more episodes.'
Hollis captioned the post: 'Paula's back on the cobbles next week! No spoilers… but trust me, it's not going to be plain sailing. Tune in to find out.' She also revealed she only learned of the announcement after being tagged on Instagram, and believes her episodes begin on Monday 19th.
History of trouble between Paula and Debbie
Paula previously served as the 'top dog' of the prison where Debbie was held earlier this year. Their feud began when Paula recognised Debbie as the owner of the Chariot Square hotel, from which Paula had been thrown out. Holding a grudge, Paula targeted Debbie throughout her sentence.
During one confrontation, Paula broke down in tears after a clash with her boyfriend. Debbie initially tried to comfort her, but her dementia symptoms flared up, leading her to mock Paula and her partner. Enraged, Paula attempted to attack Debbie before Lou Michaelis intervened and suffered a beating herself.
Debbie faces new threat at the hotel
Next week, Paula reappears at the Chariot Square hotel, despite being banned from the premises. Her return comes as Debbie and her husband, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), continue to struggle with Debbie's dementia. Debbie messes up a wedding booking by forgetting the date and then gets into a slanging match with Paula in front of the bride-to-be.
The question remains whether Paula will stop at professional sabotage or if Debbie is in real danger.
