Coronation Street fans are convinced they know who the father of Bethany Platt's baby is, after the soap confirmed she is pregnant in Tuesday's episode (October 13).
Bethany, played by Lucy Fallon, was horrified when a pregnancy test confirmed she was expecting. The twist comes after a turbulent few months for the character, who has been looking after Sarah's son Harry while living with Sarah's now-ex-boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Secret Night Together
Things took an unexpected turn when Bethany and Kit, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, ended up sleeping together. The guilt-ridden pair insisted no one could ever know and promised it would remain a secret.
However, troublemaker Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances Brown) found out about their night together and recorded a conversation between them. Jodie has since fled Weatherfield following the gun showdown last week.
Fans Predict the Father
Since then, things have been awkward between Kit and Bethany, who has struck up a romance with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott). In Tuesday's episode, after rowing with Bethany over her telling Sarah about his cancer, Kit headed out. Bethany then emerged from the bathroom and took a pregnancy test, which confirmed she was pregnant, leaving her in tears.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “We all predicted Bethany was going to be pregnant, but who is the dad?” Another added: “Kit 100%.” A third chimed in: “Yes, I can see that happening.” Someone else penned: “Wouldn’t be at all surprised if the father of Bethany’s baby turns out to be Kit.”
