Jerry Hall has suffered a significant setback ahead of the upcoming episode of Celebrity Traitors, with new betting odds making her the least fancied contestant to win the competition.
The BBC murder mystery gameshow, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, is already well underway. Richard E Grant became the first celebrity eliminated at the roundtable during Thursday's instalment, after declaring himself a Traitor before being forced to retract his statement. Shortly afterwards, Myha'la departed following a tense roundtable discussion, while Amol Rajan had earlier become the first celebrity to be murdered.
Jerry Hall and Hannah Fry Left Vulnerable
Jerry Hall and Professor Hannah Fry were also anticipated to face murder after a mission left them vulnerable, though the latter was subsequently recruited by Traitors James Acaster and Maya Jama to join them on the dark side.
While Hannah has aroused the suspicions of sleuth Miranda Hart, Jerry has now emerged as the least fancied to triumph, according to betting odds released prior to Richard and Myha'la's departures. According to Betway, actress and model Jerry alongside content creator King Kenny both stand at 33/1 to claim victory, whereas Maya and James lead at 5/1.
Odds and Fan Predictions
They're closely pursued by Michael Sheen at 7/1, Rob Beckett at 8/1 and Romesh Ranganathan at 9/1. Fellow Faithfuls Joe Lycett and Joanne McNally also possess solid prospects, though the same cannot be said for Bella Ramsey, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney, who all sit at 25/1.
Nevertheless, a number of fans have tipped Sharon to go the distance in the competition, with one posting on Reddit: "She's had hardly any screen time, which tends to be a sign she's not going anywhere too soon tbh."
Another commented: "I agree, as long as she plays it smart. She's exactly the kind of person who often makes it far: unassuming, likable, funny but not overbearing. People will probably underestimate her. I can totally see her winning the whole thing."
A further user posted: "I assume she gets very far or wins as she has little to no air time yet," while another chipped in: "Watch out for those players that never get shown - they make it to the end because they need to showcase those about to get murdered or banished first."
Jerry Hall's Enthusiasm for the Show
Prior to the series launching, Jerry had spoken enthusiastically about The Celebrity Traitors, saying: "I have been completely obsessed. I just thought it was the best show when I first saw it, and I love playing games.
"I felt thrilled to be asked to be involved as I just think it's wonderful. Saying yes in life has sometimes got me in trouble, but a lot of times it's led to wonderful adventures, and I am excited to embark on this adventure."
She went on to say: "I think I'm quite excited about the Missions. I am the oldest person doing it, but I am quite an active person. I don't sit down much. I have a lot of animals - two dogs, a cat, three horses, eight chickens.
"I do a lot of gardening. I'm very, very busy, and then I babysit my three grandchildren a lot. I'm quite an active person so I think I'll be okay."
The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
