The Celebrity Traitors is returning for a second series on the BBC, with the first episode airing on Thursday, October 1 at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Twenty-one stars from comedy, acting, music, modelling and broadcasting will compete to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charities as Traitors and Faithfuls at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands. Filming has already wrapped, with contestants and host Claudia Winkleman keeping the outcome under wraps.
Episode schedule and spin-off
The series will air two nights a week, on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm. The BBC has confirmed ten episodes, meaning the season should conclude on October 30. Episode one is an extra-long special.
Spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, hosted by Ed Gamble, will also return on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, offering a deep dive into the cast's scheming and eliminations after they air. Last year's final broke records, exceeding 15 million viewers.
Confirmed line-up
The season 2 cast includes Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, Hannah Fry, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
Some cast members have already commented on the series. Comedian Rob Beckett shared the cast photo on Instagram, writing: 'I think there's a traitor in the photoshop department…. what the f**k has happened to my face?'
Joanne McNally also complained about the trailer, saying on Instagram: 'Every single time there's a trailer released for the Celebrity Traitors – which starts on October 1 – I'm like, oh it's so exciting and I press play. It's the biggest thing I've ever done in my career; it's so exciting.' She added: 'And every time I'm not in any of them. I'm like, okay, that's cool. I'm sure it's fine. Probably, maybe they're like, she makes such an impact on the show that we don't want to oversaturate her at this stage. I'm sure it's fine.'
Cast reactions and predictions
A source told The Sun that comedian James Acaster reportedly felt the psychological strain during filming. The insider said: 'The show is incredibly intense, and during one particular scene at the castle, James became very anxious and panicked. Some of the other celebrities on the show spoke up and said cameras should stop rolling so he could calm down, and production were in agreement as well.'
Alan Carr told Metro at the National Television Awards that Miranda Hart was the dark horse to watch out for. 'Do you know what? I'm super excited about Miranda Hart because Miranda reminds me a bit of me, and if they make her a Traitor, that is gonna be TV gold,' he said. He also predicted Joanne McNally will be a 'whirlwind.'
Jonathan Ross told Metro that several celebs reached out for advice after his stint in the cloak last series. 'I spoke to quite a few of them before they went in. I had a brief chat with Michael Sheen,' he said. 'I had a longer chat with Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, Maya Jama.'
The Celebrity Traitors season two will air on BBC One at 8pm and be available on BBC iPlayer at the same time, with new episodes released on Thursdays and Fridays.
