Spooky World, one of the North West’s best-known Halloween events, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with two new scare attractions, a new entertainment venue, and major upgrades for its 2026 season. The event, based at Apple Jacks Adventure Farm in Stretton, Warrington, will open for its landmark anniversary season this October.
Six-figure investment in new Entertainment Hub
The attraction has invested six figures in a new Entertainment Hub at the heart of the site. The venue will feature a bar, live entertainment, and circus performances every 20 minutes throughout the evening, before hosting Spooky World’s closing show at 10.30pm. New animatronics, lighting, and sound technology have also been introduced throughout the event to enhance the experience for visitors.
Spooky World Park manager George Gibbons said: “Reaching our 20th anniversary is a massive milestone for everyone involved with Spooky World, and we wanted this year's event to reflect just how far we've come over the last two decades.
“We've made a six-figure investment into our brand-new Entertainment Hub, which is one of the biggest developments we've made to the visitor experience. It gives us a completely new focal point for the event, with a bar, circus performances and live entertainment throughout the night.
“We've also invested significantly in state-of-the-art animatronics, lighting and sound technology across the event. We want guests to feel completely immersed from the moment they arrive, and we've really pushed what we can do technically this year.”
New scare attractions and returning favourites
Under the anniversary tagline “Two Decades of Fear”, two new scare attractions will launch for 2026 – Carnevil Inc and Black Water Creek. Carnevil Inc takes visitors inside an industrial facility filled with toxic, UV-lit clowns, while Black Water Creek takes guests into darkness, fog, and the unknown.
They will join returning attractions across the site, including one of the UK’s two remaining Haunted Hayrides. The event will also feature a live dance show, roaming entertainment, circus acts, and performers across the site. For younger visitors and families, Fun by Day will return, offering a family-friendly way to experience Halloween at Spooky World without the full nighttime experience.
Gibbons added: “Carnevil Inc and Black Water Creek are both completely new for 2026, and we've got new entertainment alongside our returning attractions too. Seeing tens of thousands of people come through our gates every Halloween season is incredible. We've got visitors who have been coming to Spooky World for years, as well as people experiencing it for the first time.
“A huge amount of work has gone into our 20th anniversary season and we can't wait to finally open the gates and show everyone what we've created for Two Decades of Fear.”
