Celebrity Traitors season 2 is in full swing, with Traitors selected and Faithfuls both murdered and banished. The drama has been intense in just a handful of episodes, from Richard E. Grant’s early blunder to James Acaster and Amol Rajan pleading for their lives. Several stars have already said goodbye to the competition.
Who has been banished?
Richard E Grant – Traitor – was the first person to be banished from the castle. The Withnail and I actor, 69, entered the show with one goal: to be made a Traitor. When Claudia Winkleman selected him, he could barely contain his excitement. After the selection process, when Joe Lycett asked him what he was, he simply stated: Traitor. That put an early target on his back, and despite his and fellow traitor Maya Jama’s moves to murder, recruit and take the heat off, he was banished. He made Traitors history, as it was the first time a Traitor got banished in the first roundtable.
Myha’la – Faithful – was the next to go. The Industry star, 30, rose to fame as Harper Stern in the HBO series. After winking at Richard when writing his name on her chalkboard, she became suspicious in many contestants’ eyes. Despite an emotional defence at the roundtable, she couldn’t convince her fellow faithful and was banished, leaving the cast reeling at their mistake.
Who has been murdered?
Amol Rajan became the first contestant murdered in this series. The journalist and Metro Traitor’s columnist, 43, was brought to The Traitors alongside James Acaster and told to plead for his life, with the successful contestant being recruited while the other would be murdered. Traitors Richard and Maya went for James, and the coffin closed on Amol’s time in the game.
Who else is in the cast?
James Acaster – Traitor – is a comedian and podcaster, 41, who hosts the Off Menu podcast with The Traitors: Uncloaked host Ed Gamble. He wanted to play as a faithful but was seduced to the traitors’ ranks, so he’s had to switch up his gameplay.
Bella Ramsey – Faithful – at 23, is the youngest in the castle. The Game of Thrones actor has shown good deduction, even if Ross Kemp was convinced they murdered him in plain sight.
Michael Sheen – Faithful – the Welsh actor, 57, is used to performing in front of an audience. He featured heavily in some of the first trailers, making fans worried he might be targeted for an early exit.
Rob Beckett – Faithful – comedian and TV presenter, 40, co-hosts the Parenting Hell podcast and will be at the roundtable with many contemporaries, including bestie Romesh Ranganathan.
Romesh Ranganathan – Faithful – the Radio 2 presenter, podcaster and comedian, 48, is The Weakest Link host. It’s yet to be seen if he’ll form an alliance with close friend Rob Beckett.
Jerry Hall – Faithful – the actress and model, 70, has a seat at the roundtable. She revealed that Richard E Grant was her old neighbour while up in the Scottish castle.
Miranda Hart – Faithful – the comedy icon, 53, is trying to work out who is a Faithful and who is a Traitor in the grounds of Ardross Castle. She spoke about the challenges of appearing on the show while living with myalgic encephalomyelitis, often known as chronic fatigue syndrome. ‘I haven’t done much TV work for a long time, having only recently come out of long-term ill health issues, and when I was offered this, my whole body sort of relaxed, I smiled, and I just wanted to jump about like a schoolgirl with joy,’ she said.
Maya Jama – Traitor – the Love Island host, 32, is swapping Spain for Scotland as she begins her villain era as a traitor.
Joe Lycett – Faithful – the comedian, 38, is known for his pranks and pageantry. He’ll try to find out who is lying, but can he do it without Hannah’s spreadsheets?
King Kenny – Faithful – the content creator, 29, boasts over 2.2m followers on his YouTube channel KingKennyTv. He’s the second social media star to enter the series, after Niko took part last year.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock – Faithful – the singer-songwriter, 34, is a former Little Mix member who will use her perceptive powers to suss out who is a Faithful and who is a Traitor.
Joanne McNally – Faithful – the podcast host and comedian, 43, co-hosts the podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me alongside Vogue Williams.
